Dave Winer pitches the Narrate Your Work meme. Narrate Your Work is something I used to tell my team at UserLand Software, because we were a Virtual Team, with people in Seattle, Boston, Vancouver, Germany and California. But it would have applied even if we were all working in the same office. As a manager, I wanted to know where my people were, because if they were completing a project I needed to be thinking about their next steps and how their deliverables fit in with other stuff that was coming online. And if they were late I needed to understand why. We even developed technology for this. (Instant Outlining, see also TeamWiki) Dave then connects it to his Newspaper/Journalism future. Today's reporters don't think the public wants to see inside their process, but they are wrong about that. Many of us totally want to look inside and watch them at work for a variety of reasons...

Ward Cunningham on Wiki Name/Sister Sites philosophy. I see wiki as a place where people work out the names of things that they will say. Since our spoken vocabulary is small, we must struggle to find words that carry value commensurate with the space they consume in our brains (Naming Things). Where works collide in wiki they will also collide in our thoughts. Usually that is a happy circumstance. Still, we often establish the Context of a conversation so as to avoid or at least disambiguate many of these collisions. And we have to note the context switches we make in conversation. The analogy of context switching I've chosen for wiki is Sister Sites. Two sites are candidates to be sisters if the collisions in their vocabulary are likely to be useful.

Stuxnet is a computer worm[1] that was discovered in June 2010. It was designed to attack industrial programmable logic controllers (PLC-s). PLCs allow the automation of electromechanical processes such as those used to control machinery on factory assembly lines, amusement rides, or centrifuges for separating nuclear material. Exploiting four zero-day flaws,[2] Stuxnet functions by targeting machines using the Microsoft Windows operating system and networks, then seeking out Siemens Step7 software. Stuxnet reportedly compromised Iranian PLCs, collecting information on industrial systems and causing the fast-spinning centrifuges to tear themselves apart.[3] Stuxnet’s design and architecture are not domain-specific and it could be tailored as a platform for attacking modern SCADA and PLC systems (e.g. in the automobile or power plants), the majority of which reside in Europe, Japan and the US.[4] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuxnet (more)

Last week Robert Rubin, the former Treasury Secretary, declared that Mr. Barney Frank is right about the need for expanded regulation.
