Black Mirror is a British anthology television (TV) series created by Charlie Brooker. Most episodes are speculative fiction, set in near-future dystopias containing sci-fi technology. The series is inspired by The Twilight Zone and uses the themes of technology and media to comment on contemporary social issues. Most episodes are written by Brooker with involvement by the executive producer Annabel Jones.[1] There are 33 episodes in seven series and one special, in addition to the interactive film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018). The first two series aired on the British network Channel 4 in 2011 and 2013, as did the 2014 special "White Christmas". The programme then moved to Netflix, where five further series aired in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2023, and 2025. An eighth series is in development. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Mirror
Colossus is the name used for a cluster of data centers developed by xAI (later SpaceX-AI) in the Memphis, Tennessee–Southaven, Mississippi area. The original facility, Colossus 1, began construction in 2024 at a former Electrolux plant in South Memphis and became operational in July–September 2024.[1] Its primary purpose was to train the company's chatbot Grok; it also supported other projects associated with Elon Musk, including the social network X and SpaceX.[2] A second major facility, Colossus 2 (also referred to as Macrohard), was developed beginning in 2025 at 5420 Tulane Road in the Whitehaven area of Memphis, with associated power generation across the state line in Southaven, Mississippi. Additional nearby buildings (sometimes called Minihard and Macrohardrr / Colossus 3) expanded the cluster. As of mid-2026 the combined sites provided on the order of 1 gigawatt of AI compute capacity.[3] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossus_(data_center) (more)

Chaos Magick had its inception in the late 1970s when Pete Carroll began to meld together elements of Golden Dawn ceremonial magick, Thelema, Taoism and Tibetan Buddhism in his articles for the magickal journal, The New Equinox. The inspiration for this synthesis was the work of the obscure, early twentieth-century artist and sorcerer Austin Osman Spare. Spare had developed what he called the technique of SentientLetters. Pete Carroll reformed the technique, and the sentient letters were recast as 'sigils'; they became the basis of a system which aimed to generate results through the application of undogmatic magickal technique. http://www.barbelith.com/cgi-bin/articles/00000004.shtml (more)
Cedric Chin: Much Ado About The OODA Loop. Any discussion about fast adaptation in response to uncertainty should probably begin with John Boyd and the OODA Loop. (more)
Chet Richards reviews Frans Osinga's Science, Strategy, and War ISBN:0415371031 book about John Boyd. Where Carl von Clausewitz and practically every strategist since considered war as a clash of wills, Boyd sees it as “the non-linear clash of two Complex Adaptive Systems” (124). In Boyd’s scheme, this is equivalent to a non-linear clash between two learning, or equivalently, novelty-generating systems, although it should be noted that Boyd rarely uses the term "system."
